I saw this little creature today in front of our house. I'm struggling with an ID though. Is this a hummingbird, or some kind of . . . . . . mocking bird? Sometimes birdwatchers get no respect. Sigh. ?

Spotted this fledgling Scrub Jay in our front yard this evening. Too young to be vaccinated, so it’s still wearing a mask outside. Smart bird!
Happy Humm Day!
We've found that few things grow more happily in our yard than salvias, especially in the spring and summer sun of Sonoma. Thankfully, the hummingbirds are happy with this. So today's life lesson: On the road of life, don't forget to stop and sip the salvias.
