(Note: This is NOT from today’s Wordle)

I don’t normally (or ever) post Wordle stuff, but this probably won’t happen very often. . . . Last week, I was playing an iPhone Wordle clone/rip-off called Wordus. Unlike Wordle, it allows unlimited play rather than limiting you to one game a day. And on my very first game of the day—BAM!—I guessed the word on my first attempt! I was so proud. 😁

I don’t know exactly what the odds are. Official Wordle reportedly allows 12,972 acceptable five-letter guesses but uses only 2,315 words as actually solutions. Wordus seems to sometimes have more obscure or bizarre solutions, so I’m guessing the number of potential solution words the app uses is greater. (Examples I’ve personally seen so far: FJORD, BIDDY, DEBAR, ERICA, FOLEY, OCTAL, FLUME, VERSO, SCREE, WIGHT.)

But anyway, not wanting to spoil this singular moment, I decided not to play any other Wordus games that day. Instead I waited for midnight to roll around to attempt the official Wordle challenge of the day. And, feeling lucky, I decided to play the same word as I had in my previous Wordus attempt, hoping I could somehow use my miraculous CLOUD for two consecutive wins! . . .
