A pair of western bluebirds was flying around in front of our house this morning. The bright blue male flew away before I could grab my camera, so here is a picture of . . . The Lady in Gray: a bluebird missing her blue.

Well, OK, she was wearing orange too, obviously. But The Lady in Gray and Orange doesn’t sound quite as très élégant, right? . . . And yes, yes, truth be told, she also had a little bit of blue on her wings and tail, but, dagnabbit, I’ve named her “The Lady in Gray,” so that’s her name!!
